Night Rides

Well the weather managed to hang on a little longer and we pushed ourselves to do several more night rides. Two were 20 km rides and one was 30 kms on a new bike path heading out to Costco at what is called Kenaston Common. The last ride we did on the 29th was just after some snow. We decided to go anyway and took our time. The streets were slippery and the bike paths pretty much the same. That’s fine for my boys and the grandson who came. But this old guy doesn’t bounce like he use too. Well I managed to go down once and the grandson also went down. Nothing serious. Since it was a Sunday morning ride on the 29th there was very little traffic and we pretty much stuck to the trails along the Red River and Seine River. Had a great time which included a stop for breakfast of course. As can been by the above pictures there are lots of Christmas lights up already.

Nice Ride (November 24th).

Managed to do a late night ride on Tuesday, November 24th. Weather was +1 C and no wind. Seemed strange to be riding and looking at the Christmas Lights. It got pretty warm as I was overdressed but that is better than being cold. Not much in the way of traffic. I did the ride with #2 son who rides his bike to work most of the time. We did around 23 kms and headed home around 9pm as he starts work at 5am. Hope I can still get one or two more rides in. This was the latest ride I have done in the last six years. Lets hope the snow holds off.

Can’t always see them but you can sure hear them. They are finally starting to leave for the south. Been hanging around all our man made lakes within the city. With the temperature dropping they are getting the message it is time to go.

Sunday Morning Bike Ride

Pictures are from a early Sunday morning bike ride at Birds Hill Park. We managed to get in 18.8kms and the temperature was was -8c when we started out. Just one of my sons and me. No snow or wind so it might be one of the last good days to go. Pretty much had the park to ourselves other than a few dog walkers.

A really nice old Chrysler 300 from the looks of it. Big fins and all.
